Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is a one-on-one space and opportunity to focus on just you. It's a safe, supportive, and confidential setting where you can truly be your true self as you lean into what it is that brought you here.
Our first session will involve me exploring the problem(s) that led you to seeking therapy and learning how it is currently impacting you. We'll work together to identify a clear goal for therapy and the frequency of sessions that we think will make your investment and time most beneficial and realistic. Depending on where things go, you may walk out with some new insight and/or something to reflect on.
The following sessions are tailored to you- your goals, your pace, your needs. I like to understand the whole person, including what a typical day or week looks like for you, the environments you are in on a normal or routine basis, your values and morals, your life dreams, your interests, your health and lifestyle. I believe in the connections and impacts between our physical health and our mental and emotional wellbeing. So over the course of some sessions, these things will be explored.
My sessions typically end with us going over what was discussed and noting any new insights or anything that may need continued attention for future sessions.
My clients frequently leave sessions with a task to complete that I feel would support them in integrating what was discussed or uncovered into their life between sessions. I find that this helps clients in prioritizing themselves and reaching goals of therapy sooner than others that do not. I am also known for providing external resource options including books, podcasts, and handouts of information or homework.
