I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) which can also be referred to as the handful of other generally used terms including “counselor”, “therapist”, “clinical therapist”, and “psychotherapist”. I am living my dream of having a solo private practice where I can provide a space of safety, calmness, and connection for all of my clients who are looking for healing and/or transformation!
The tremendous amount of value I have of therapy comes from my own personal experience of working with a therapist in my late teen years and early 20’s. Therapy gave me exactly what I didn’t realized I needed: a safe space to be honest, a sense of connection and support without judgement, self awareness, and have tools to help me navigate life stressors. That time and commitment to my own healing not only helped me find myself– it sparked a deep passion for this work! I LOVED going to therapy, and today, I feel incredibly honored to be able to offer that same space and connection to others.
My Approach
I’m easy to talk to, and I believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be your real self– the messy, the funny, the uncertain, all of it. I’m honest and direct, but always in a way that is respectful and compassionate. I’ll tell it like it is when you need that, and I’ll also celebrate your wins, big and small. I”m not afraid to share my own stories if/when appropriate if it will provide my clients with a sense of understanding, compassion, and normalization that they seem to need.
Empowerment is at the core of my work. I want my clients to understand themselves better– recognize and understand their patterns, see their strengths, and feel knowledgable and equipped to make meaningful changes. Providing my clients with facts/information (evidence-based), knowledge, and resources that can empower them and reinforce healing and reach their goals.
